Painting

Painting classes provide the student with basic technique, understanding of color and a space in which to explore and create. We learn about various mediums including acrylic, oil paint glazes, gels and mediums and mixed media materials. Abstraction and the figurative approach will be looked at.

Drawing

Drawing is the key ingredient behind all the arts. In this class drawing is used as a tool to prepare us for other art forms as well as practiced as an art form in itself. We explore a variety of materials and draw from life and from conceptual ideas.

Thursdays
Collage and Assemblage

begins December 1- January 26
In this class we experiment with many types of materials and use them in a conceptual way to create art that blends the line of sculpture and painting. We look at master assemblage artists such as Joseph Cornell to understand how this type of art took form and what motivates it today.

Open Studio

begins December 2-January 27
For beginners or experienced artists. Please come in and work on one of your own projects or let me help you get started on something new. You are welcome to try a variety of medium in this open and creative environment.
